Common questions
Pricing, data sources, account, exchanges, mobile.
Is it free?
Yes — free during alpha. We'll surface paid tiers when there's a real cross-device sync to charge for. No payment information is collected today.
Do I need an account?
No. The dashboard works without signing in; everything persists locally. Sign up if you want it tied to an email so syncing (when it ships) connects across devices.
Where does the price data come from?
Crypto: Binance public REST + WebSocket. BitMEX, OKX, Bitstamp picker entries also exist. US equities: SEC EDGAR for fundamentals + filings; OHLCV via Alpha Vantage is wired backend-side but the chart UI doesn't yet consume it (use crypto charts for live OHLCV today).
Can I trade through Finterm?
No. There's no exchange-API-key field, no margin slider, no execute button. Watch + research only.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes — phones get an auto-tile mode where each window is full-bleed and you switch between them via a bottom tab strip. Charts, news, watchlists, and SEC tools work; Spreadsheet + Backtester are usable but were designed for desktop.
Why no Bloomberg-like trade execution / OMS / RMS?
Out of scope. Finterm is a personal terminal for individuals, not an institutional OEMS. If you need order management, broker-agnostic risk, or Bloomberg's IB chat — use Bloomberg.
